Ten Thousand Tears

Ten thousand tears I cried today,
Tears for lives now lost forever,
For the motherless child, the father now gone,
The sons and daughters no longer together.

Ten thousand tears I cried today,
For innocence lost in the morning light,
For souls that saw a summers day
Turn to a terror as dark as night

Ten thousand tears I cried today,
To ease my sorrow to ease my pain.
Tears to cleanse away all despair,
To restore my faith, my life regain.

Time will heal my aching heart.
Life will go on to another day.
I will endure, but never forget,
For ten thousand tears I cried today.
