I've walked among my friends so long
That I've grown accustomed to their song
Have my eyes, forever, been blinded by
Their words that I thought, would never die

I look back now and think of days
When my friends and I were content to play
Our imaginations were wild and free
That is how it used to be

Now the security of, their song is gone
And I must now, alone, go on
Their friendships will, always be
An inner soul, inside of me

I want to thank them all again
For making me just what I am
Aware of life and what it holds
I end this poem, brave and bold
